Posted by Greg Murphy on

It's especially true in my experience when they outnumber you... kids in numbers are just scary. If you really think about kids in the grocery store… they are pretty badass in their little strollers. They will lock into you with the kind of aggressive eye contact that you don’t see in the real world outside of motorcycle gangs and missionaries - at least according to the shows I watch on Netflix (I have very little exposure to the world outside my home and book warehouse). We used to have a StoryTime once a week at my old bookstore, which was more traditional...

I explained that I didn't know. She then asked how much money actors made. Now this was a question I did have a good answer for... and I also thought it might help dissuade her from going further down this particular rabbit hole. "Most actors don't make any money at all. Ten thousand times more people want to be paid actors than there are roles for. It's really...

The people that change the covers on the books are ok I guess...

Posted by Greg Murphy on

Although... books have a longer shelf life than actors, and every single day I see the other more traditional books at our warehouse look at these newcomers with a combination of contempt and pity. And the actors of a previous generation staining the covers of books is just weird.Instead, I'm talking about the folks that are banning books. There is an article in Book Riot that talks about the fact that nearly half of state legislatures are considering laws banning books, including Ohio. We are firmly against this. We are pro librarian, pro teacher, and pro books. Of all types. The biggest reason...
